★ 344 번째 미션 도전자, 홍승모 님, 성공! 오늘은 하와이의 폴리네시아 문화센터로 도전했습니다. 폴리네시아란 ‘많은 섬들’이라는 뜻이죠. 폴리네시아 섬들이 퍼져있는 해역을 따져보면 태평양의 반정도를 차지하고 있습니다. 하와이 제도를 비롯해서, 이스터섬, 쿡 제도, 뉴질랜드 등이 모두 폴리네시아에 포함되는데요. 아주 넓은 지역에 퍼져있는데도 불구하고, 폴리네시아 인이라면 아무리 거리가 멀어도 서로 언어가 통할만큼 서로 비슷하다고 합니다. 오늘 도전하는 Polynesia Cultural Center는 태평양에 퍼져있는 폴리네시아 섬들의 생활 모습과 문화를 7개의 마을에 재현해 놓은 곳입니다. 강을 따라 카누를 타고 구경할 수 있고, 전통 공연이 계속 펼쳐지고 있어, 폴리네시아 문화를 신나게 체험할 수 있습니다. 이 쇼에 출연하는 사람들은 가까이에 있는 대학의 학생들로, 폴리네시아 각 민족의 유학생으로 자신들의 문화를 소개하고 있다고 하네요. There are quiet a few. There are many small islands.      But the main islands are 7-8,      and small islands probably are between 30 to 40 islands. A2. People in the islands, they like to eat a lot.      and the people in the many different islands are actually very big people.      very large and tall.      And one of the main things of Polynesian people is family.      Family is very important. A3.
