★ 342번째 도전자 하주호 님, 성공! 오늘은 미국 Arizona주로 전화여행 했습니다. 바로 죽기전에 꼭 보아야 할 장대한 경관, 자연이 빚은 예술, Grand Canyon 국립공원으로 도전했는데요. Colorado 강이 수억 년을 거쳐 빚어낸 거대한 계곡이죠. 몇몇 정해진 전망대에서 보는 것만으로는 만족하지 못하는 여행자들은 직접 콜로라도 강을 타고 노저어 가면서 경치를 감상할 수도 있습니다. 목숨까지 위협할 수 있는 엄청난 물살의 급류에도 겁먹지 않는 용기 있는 여행객들이 도전해 볼만하다고 하네요. 하지만 혼자 이곳을 여행하기에는 너무 위험하겠죠. 오늘 전화할 O.A.R.S가 바로 콜로라도 강 여행 안내를 해주는 곳입니다. Oars. 배를 젓는'노'라는 뜻의 단어죠. 이 곳의 설립자이자 사장인 George 씨도 원래는 중학교 선생님이셨다가 콜로라도 강을 여행한 후 감동을 받아, 이 회사를 차리게 되었다고 합니다. 멋진 자연을 벗삼아, 제 2의 인생을 살고 있는 George씨에게 직접 전화걸어봅니다. M1. 콜로라도 강을 따라 그랜드캐니언을 완전히 여행하려면 몇일이 걸리나요? M2. 여행 중 하루종일 배 위에만 있나요? M3. 급류는 얼마나 센가요? Q1. How many days does it take to have a full Grand Canyon trip? Q2. Do we have to stay in the boat the whole time? Q3. How rough/swift are the rapids? A1. It would take 13 days to go all the way through the canyon.       If you don't have much time,       you can do a 6-day trip that covers upper sections of the canyon,       or 9-day trip that covers lower section of the canyon. A2. No. During the day,        you probably are in and out of the boat about 5 or maybe 6 hours a day.       That means you have a lot of other time to sit and read on the beach,        or to go on some nice hikes. A3.
